If you’re using Quick Notes to keep small reminders and important information visible at all times, you can pin them so that they stay visible over any other windows on your computer screen. On your keyboard, press Windows + Alt + N for each Quick Note that you'd like to create. You can create Quick Notes even if you haven’t opened OneNote. Create a Quick Note when OneNote isn’t running You can find them quickly by opening your Notebooks list (click the down-arrow next to the name of your notebook and look at the bottom of the list for Quick Notes). Quick Notes are stored in the Quick Notes section in your default notebook. OneNote automatically saves your Quick Notes. Apparently, Microsoft declared to integrate important features that are currently only available in OneNote for Windows 10 into OneNote, without sharing what those features will be.Note: Closing a Quick Note window doesn't delete the note. In addition, with this important function, it would then also be possible to use OneNote even as a full-fledged electronic laboratory notebook in academic research. Otherwise, I can´t prevent others from making changes (intentionally or unintentionally) that I then can´t detect. The ability to prevent other users in a team from deleting or disabling an edit history in shared notebooks would be absolutely essential. Thank you for your very helpful and quick answer! Unless all users in your organization use OneNote for Windows 10 which is an UWP app that does not have the relevant options to delete the edit history. There is no group policy or setting to remove or greyed out the options under History group on OneNote desktop client, such as "Delete All Versions in Section", "Disable History for This Notebook". If you only give them the permission like 'Review', 'Read' and 'Restricted View', then they can just open notebooks on OneNote for web that can not delete or disable the history of notebooks. If you assign the permission such as 'Full Control', 'Design', 'Edit' and 'Contribute' to others you share with, then they could click "Open in desktop App", and then have the chances to do above actions. From the perspective of OneDrive sharing files:.To delete or disable the history of notebooks, we need to go to OneNote desktop client > History tab > History group. Based on my tests, currently, we are unable to prevent others from deleting or disabling an edit history in shared notebooks if you give the edit permission to them.
